The Lay Foundation donates to Rashidiyya Islamic School

A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) The Lay Foundation founded by broadcaster Ms.Ayisha Yakubu has made its first ever donation to Rashidiyya Islamic School.

The Lay Foundation launched few weeks ago, aims at providing support for the vulnerable groups such as widows, orphans and needy children in school.

The presentation took place on Independence Day at the school at Nima where the founder of the foundation started her Arabic studies (makaranta) studies.

 Items worth GHC7,000, were made up of nose masks, hand sanitisers, toiletries, Veronica buckets and others were donated  to aid the fight against COVID-19.

Ms. Yakubu who was ecstatic for the commencement of such humanitarian initiative, said her outfit would continuously reach out to the downtrodden in the society and expressed gratitude to sponsors as well as other anonymous donors for the support.

Both pupils and teachers of the school were grateful for the gesture  and called for more assistance from others as well.

The foundation is expected to carry out advocacy to protect children, women and provide mentorship programmes for children.
