You might be conversant with pictures of your community or residential area as captured by everyday photographer on television or in print. But how do these places look when captured from above?

Our photographer Geoffrey Buta is out and about these days. This week, he sends us beautiful aerial shots from the coastline of Dixcove, a fishing community in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region of Ghana, located approximately 35 km west of the regional capital of Sekondi-Takoradi.

The shot features Fort Metal Cross, an English fort which was built in 1698. It is a prominent feature of the fishing village and town which is somewhat the centre of attraction.

From the early 17th-19th century, Dixcove was in two parts known as Ntwarkro (Upper Dixcove) and Daazikessie (Lower Dixcove). It was centre for trade during the Gold Coast era.

Watch this space for more exciting aerial shots of some of your favourite or popular locations in the country.
