Calista Amoateng named Tourism Ambassador …Ghana to host Miss Teen Tourism World 2023

The Chief of Staff, Mrs. Akosua Frema Osei-Opare has conferred on Calista Amoateng Tourism Ambassador of Ghana , and called for support for her as Ghana hosts Miss Teen Tourism World Competition this year.

Calista Amoateng, last year hoisted the flag of Ghana high after overcoming other competing nation­als to become the first Ghanaian and African to win Miss Teen Tourism World beauty pageant.

For this reason and August chalked by Calista, Ghana will host this year’s edition slated for August 1 – 20.

Against this backdrop, a ceremony was held at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel on Sunday, January 8, to offi­cially unveil Calista Amoateng’s Miss Teen Tourism World project and Gha­na as host as well as to raise funds.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief of Staff, Mrs. Akosua Frema Os­ei-Opare, said for such achievement at her age, and for projecting Gha­na’s culture to the rest of the world, she conferred on Calista Amoateng the title of Tourism Ambassador of Ghana.

She commended Calista Amoateng for her choice of project which is focused on poverty eradication and youth empowerment as important and relevant topics.

She further stated that since Gha­na is hosting this event it will boost the economy of the country and therefore urged all stakeholders to prepare and position themselves for the opportunities ahead.

Speaking to The Spectator, Calista expressed her appreciation to Gha­naians for the support, and promised to do everything in her capacity to project the culture of Ghana on every platform she is offered.

Stacey Amoateng, mother of Calista who has been her guide throughout this process revealed that the team is adequately putting all measures in place to host about 70 delegates from across the globe.

This notwithstanding, she called on benevolent individuals to come to their aid with support in any form for a befitting event.

In attendance were traditional leaders, Deputy Ministers and Heads of Institutions among other distin­guished Ghanaians.

Also present were the bfather of Calista, ace broadcaster, Quophi Okyeame, Nana Ama McBrown, Obaapa Christy, Piesie Esther, Chief Operations Officer of Miss Tourism Ghana, Delphine Brew-Hammond, Miss Tourism Ghana Princesses, KK Fosu, Prophet Joseph Atarah, Charles Osei Asibe, Selasie Brown and Jayana among others.
