GBA call on Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin
A three-member delegation of the National Executives of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) yesterday paid a courtesy call on Rt. Hon. Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin in Parliament.
The delegation called on Parliament to invite the Ghana Bar Association to provide comments and submit inputs to Bills when being taken through the various stages to be passed in parliament.
Mr. Speaker, addressing the delegation, lauded their initiative and indicated that it is the duty of Parliament to pass laws and that the GBA can contribute to this endeavor by giving technical support to the Committees.
The delegation was made up of the National President- Mr Yaw Acheampong Boafo, National Vice-president- Mr. kwasi Amoako Adjei and National Secretary-Mr. Kwaku Gyau Baffour.
Present at the meeting to receive the delegation were Mr. Speaker’s Adviser and a former Member of Parliament for Ho West-Hon. Kofi Atto, Hon. Bernard Ahaifor- Member of Parliament for Akatsi South -Ranking member for Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, Hon. Nelson Kyeremeh-Member of Parliament for Brekum East –Vice Chairman to the Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee in Parliament.
