Ghana joins UN in Costa Rica to mark International Day for People of African Descent

Ghana, on August 31, 2021, joined the United Nations (UN) and countries around the world to celebrate the maiden International Day of People of African Descent in Costa Rica.

The Day was celebrated to promote, among others, the enormous contributions the African diaspora has made in every field of human endeavour.

The delegation from Ghana included Mr Mark Okraku Mantey, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Odenehu Kwarfo Akoto III, Akwamuhene and Rocky Dawuni, GRAMMY-nominated Ghanaian singer.

In the course of the celebration, Oral Ofori of #TheAfricanDream caught up with Rocky Dawuni and interviewed him on the significance of the memorable event.
