GWR:I can’t access my portal – Afua Asantewaa

Ghanaian media personality, Afua Asantewaa Oduonum, who attempted to break the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest singing marathon has further clarified the circumstances leading to her late announcement of her result.

On Friday, February 23, when GWR replied to a tweet, Afua Asantewaa said she did not know the results of the record attempt because she was unable to access the email sent by GWR containing the results.

She noted that when she was sent the email on February 12, she alerted the GWR about her inability to access it; however, to date they are yet to get back to her.

Afua Asantewaa in an interview with GHONE television said “ I don’t think I am disappointed, everybody has his or her notion, we live in an era when one person sparks up something, it catches fire without the actual victim being given the opportunity to express his or herself.”

According to her, there is no way she would hold on to a result such as this, adding that she is a very strong personality who believes in not giving up.

She added that regardless of the outcome she would have shared with Ghanaians.

“I spoke about a miscommunication with GWR, it has to do with my login account, I don’t have access, so as I sit here I don’t have official documents to even post on my social media that this is my disqualification letter, I can’t access my account,” Afua Asantewaa lamented.

She added that this could be the reason they probably went ahead of her to comment on somebody’s post.

“I think that I haven’t disappointed Ghanaians, the only disappointment maybe is that they didn’t hear from me first which I apologise, it’s beyond my control,” she apologised.

Afua Asantewaa concluded by adding that she hoped that in due time, the public would understand and believe her story.
