Harbour, airport for Cape Coast – Dr Bawumia

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has promised the people of Cape Coast a new harbour and an airport should the people of Ghana renew its mandate.

The promise was made by the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia during the launch of NPP’s 2020 manifesto in Cape Coast on Saturday.

The Manifesto is titled, ‘Leadership of Service: Protecting our Progress, Transforming Ghana for All.’

According to him, considering the contribution of Cape Coast in the area of Tourism, such initiative will not be out of place.

He said: “For the people of Cape Coast, I have good news for you. We are building a new harbour in Cape Coast and a new airport in Cape Coast. It is very critical that we do that. The airport makes a lot of sense in Cape Coast. It is the tourist hub between Greater Accra and Kumasi and Cape Coast.”

That, he said, would further improve the tourist sites in the Region and also attract more investors into that part of the country.

Cape Coast is the Central Regional capital and used to be the national capital of Gold Coast, now Ghana.
