Hearts aim to end Medeama dominance

The betPawa Premier League continues this weekend after a week’s break due to the FA Cup Round of 32 games honoured the previous week.

The match-day 13 fixtures will see Hearts of Oak make a trip to the Tarkwa Akoon Park in a tough affair with Medeama SC today.

The Phobians are without a goal and a single win in their last three games as they drew barren with King Faisal, Samartex 1996 and another stalemate against Dreams FC in the MTN/FA Cup. It is a worrying situation for the fans and tactician Slavko Matic – who most fans have hugely criticised.

Crucially, Hearts would have to defy all odds and break a seven-year jinx against the Yellow-and-Mauves, whom they last beat in 2016 at the same venue.

The action continues tomorrow when reigning champions Asante Kotoko host Kotoku Royals at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. The Porcupine Warriors will aim to worsen the woes of the visitors who can only boast of a single win in their debut campaign.

League leaders Aduana Stars will have a tough hurdle to cross when they welcome second-placed Accra Lions to the Nana Agyeman Badu I Park tomorrow.

Other fixtures will see Tamale City lock horns with high-flying Gold Stars at the Aliu Mahama Stadium today, while Berekum Chelsea will tussle it out with Dreams FC at the Golden City Park on Sunday.

On Sunday, Real Tamale United will host Nsoatreman FC at the Aliu Mahama Stadium, while newcomers Samartex FC face King Faisal and poor performing Karela United battle out Great Olympics at the CAM Park today.
