Jemima Nyamewaa crowned Miss Tourism Ghana

Twnety-five- year-old, Jemima Nyamewaa Akpandja, a final year student of University of Education (UEW), and a native of Oti Region who represented the Bono Region was crowned Miss Tourism Ghana 2021, at the National Theatre in Accra last Friday.

For her package, Ms.Akpandja would represent Ghana on the international stage, get monthly allowance together with airtime, monthly styling, national tour and receive hampers from sponsors.

Also, she would  have her wardrobe stocked by GTP for a year, spend night at 5-Star Hotel, prize from NASCO Electricals, takee meals at 5-Star and 4-Star hotels, Spa treatment at Seera Beauty Medical Aesthetic Institute and Makeup package from Max International Beauty.

A graduate of the University of Ghana, Caroline Naa Nunoo, and Millicent Awiendi of Feulme Services and Engineering Limitedwho represented the North East and Volta regions emerged first and second runners-up.

They would also represent Miss Tourism in other International competitions and enjoy monthly allowances, souvenirs and other packages from sponsors.

Ahead of the final showdown, the contestants engaged in Culture Day Competition, Debate, Regional Cooking Contest, GTP Fashion Show and Read Ghana Night among others.

The night started with a choreography from the contestants followed by Regional Specific, where all the 16 finalists took their turn on the stage to sell the tourism potentials of the regions they represented.

Following that, patrons enjoyed an action packed talent show from contestants, which led to the selection of final five leading to the announcement of the ultimate winner.

Speaking to The Spectator after the event, Director of Operations at Miss Tourism Ghana, Madam Delphine Brew-Hammond, expressed her appreciation to the sponsors and well-wishers for a successful programme.

She said, there was more after the event, as the Princess would be embarking on their projects.

On the night, there were other awards such as the Miss Culture, Miss Civic, Miss Catwalk, Miss Clear Skin, and Miss Eloquent among others.
