Limited Registration Exercise: Increase your staff and machines – Della Sowah appeals to EC

The Member of Parliament for Kpando, Della Sowah has appealed to the Electoral Commission of Ghana(EC) to listen to various concerns raised in the ongoing limited registration exercise to quicken the pace.

The MP made the call after she spent time at the District EC Office interacting with EC Staff, agents of political parties and fresh registrants on Thursday, September 21.

Speaking to the media, she appealed to the EC to increase the staff and the machines for capturing the registrants.

This, she said, would go a long way to increase the pace of work to ensure time wasted is drastically reduced.

“Issues were mainly problems with internet access, lack of public education and understanding of the registration process. At this rate the target of 9,000 new registrants may not be met,” she added.

Della Sowah said the EC has a responsibility to create an enabling environment for eligible Ghanaians to be registered, but not to frustrate and disenfranchise them in future.

The MP said, together with her team and the leadership of the party, they would continuously monitor the process to ensure the right thing was done.

She congratulated the NDC Team led by Organizer Kenzy. Kudos to the Fesi and Torkor teams for a good mobilization.

“It was an honour to have the Regional Organizer Siki, the Deputy Regional Secretary, Hon. Fafa Adinyira, visit Kpando to observe the process. Special mention to Hafiz, Mr. Diapim and Mr. Agorbortu for today’s work. Well done. Babanet and your colleague agent Eliza, Akpenami, keep it up,” she added.
