Mahama is a pensioner President – Solomon Nkansah

Former Communication Officer for the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC), Solomon Nkansah has described flagbearer hopeful, John Mahama as a pensioner President.

According to him, he disagrees with those who believe that the former President has money and is popular amongst all the contestants, and the party will lose if they fail to present him as the flagbearer.

Speaking on Top FM in Accra he said those assertions cannot be true because he has been defeated twice by the NPP, making the propensity of losing again very high.

Against the backdrop, he stated that former President Mahama will not be too worried should he lose again, because the state takes care of him.

“John Mahama will not be worried should he lose again because the state already takes care of him, he is a pensioner President, and those around him are also taken care of by the state, but the various branches of the party will suffer if the party loses again,” he said

He said the NDC cannot afford a third defeat, and it is for this reason that the party needs to present a fresh candidate for the 2024 elections.
