Miss Tourism Ghana hosts ‘eviction party’

The annual “Eviction Party” for Miss Tourism Ghana (MTG) which eliminates some of the preliminary contestants began on Sunday in Accra.

38 bright and beautiful young ladies elegantly dressed in Ghanaian fabrics seeking to represent Ghana’s tourism industry showed up at the venue at East Legon.

The ladies socialised with one another in a non-competitive environment and met with past candidates for the MTG crown.

Also in attendance were fashion designers, sponsors and chaperones who had contributed to the success of the pageant.

Though some of the ladies appeared nervous they were happy to be part of the process. The organiser lauded selected contestants for their unique capabilities.

Maya received an award for her communication skills.  Zay also received the ‘Sportsmanship Award’ for being friendly towards other participants while Risa, Ayole, Nuna were recognised.

Ms Delphine Brew-Hammond, Director of Events and Operations, MTG, said that the guiding principle of the event was to unite the ladies who chose to represent the country.

“Ghana is known as ‘the friendliest nation in West Africa’ and if the contestants don’t exhibit genuine love for one another, who would want to come visit a nation where its citizens cannot get along” she noted.

The evening ended on  a high note for the remaining contestants who included: Ella of Oti Region, Abena, Greater Accra Region, Serwa North East Region, Cassy, Volta Region, Afua, Central Region, Katie, Ahafo Region, Sonia, Ashanti Region, Naya, Western Region, BLAQ, Upper West Region and Sar, Northern Region.
