Mrs.Dorothy Barnor celebrates 93rd birthday

ONE of the four surviving members of the 1948-Year Group of the Wesley Girls High School (WGHS), Cape Coast, Mrs Dorothy Barnor (born Dorothy Naa Kwartiokor Quartey-Papafio) celebrated her 93rd birthday at her residence at Lartebiokorshie in Accra on Monday, August 16, 2021.  

She marked the day together with her children, grandchildren, other members of her family and some members of WGHS Old Girls’ Association.  

The mother of five, a retired nurse/midwife and former the Manager of her late husband’s private hospital, the then Link Road Hospital, speaks English, Ga, Ewe, Hausa and Twi.

Mrs Barnor was all cheers as she danced sitting in a sofa, saying “I am happy.”  

The National President of WGHS Old Girls’ Association, Ms Effie Simpson who presented the celebrant with a consignment of gifts on behalf of the association, described Mrs Barnor as an icon of human development and a jewel in the service to humanity.
