Nigeria’s Hilda Baci breaks Guinness World Record for longest cooking session

Social media was awash with congratulatory and inspirational messages when it emerged that Nigerian chef and entrepreneur Hilda Effiong Bassey popularly known as Hilda Baci has broken the Guinness World Record.

Hilda Baci broke the record for the longest individual cooking session. 

The Guinness World Record for the longest cooking time is 87 hours 45 minutes.

That record is held by India’s Lata Tondon in 2019.

The restaurateur kick-started the competition on Thursday at exactly 4 pm after she turned on her cooker. 

Currently, she is now on a mission to set a new record of 96 hours.

Some well-meaning Nigerians, her fans, followers and celebrities are at the location of the event to cheer her up at Amore Gardens, Lekki Lagos where the cooking is happening live.

Interestingly,  it is also streamed live on her Instagram page.
