Rampant accidents occurring in the country are nothing to write home about so the government, as a matter of urgency needs to put some measures in place to curtail their occurrence.

An accident that occurred at Sapei­man on the Accra-Nsawam Highway has claimed the life a motor rider.

According to an eyewitness, “it is so unfortunate that numerous accidents normally occur during Christmas and New Year seasons which was beyond human comprehension.”

He said a truck had hit an okada rider on the Accra-Nsawam highway as a result of overspeeding on New Year’s Day.

The okada driver who was heading towards the highway from Sapeiman road, unfortunately, collided with the truck on the highway, and as a result of the impact, the ‘okada’ rider was rushed to the nearby hospital for treatment but did not survive.
