Management of SDA College of Education last Friday cut a cake as part of its 60th anniversary at Asokore, a suburb of Koforidua.

The Guest of Honour for the occasion, Ing. Mrs Seriel Etwire, who is the Eastern Regional Director of ECG, urged the students to be proud of being part of the celebration because teacher education was one of the best in this era of global economic crisis.

According to her, it was a teacher who modelled her in the classroom to be what she is today and, therefore, they should submit to authorities of the school and the sky would be their limit in their educational journey.

She advised them to allow humility and obedience be their hall mark as long as they lived on earth.

The Acting Principal of the College, Dr Cecilia Ofosua Odame, expressed gratitude to founding fathers as well as those who had supported the school, both in cash or kind.

She thanked the 1985 year group for donating two jumbo polytanks to the school and appealed to the other year groups to assist their alma mater.

She lamented on some of the challenges faced by the school and said water was the major one because sometimes they had to contact the Ghana Water Company offices to supply the school with water.

The College Secretary, Mrs Elsie Amisah Arthur, thanked the donors and called on other philanthropists and organisations to assist the school with a bore hole.
