Sena Agbeko ranked 15th by World Boxing Council after win over Steen

Ghanaian boxer, Sena “The African Assassin” Agbeko has been ranked among the top 20 best fighters in the world by the World Boxing Council (WBC).

The WBC’s recently released ranking has 30-year-old Agbeko positioned in 15th place on the rankings, with the upgrade in position coming on the back of Agbeko’s unanimous decision win over Isaiah Steen in late October.

Prior to the win over Steen, Agbeko recorded wins over Daniel Mendez, Apollo Thompson and Winfred Haris Jnr.

The win over Steen was Agbeko’s fourth in a row and third in 2022 and, in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports, Agbeko stated he is pushing for a fight in early 2023.

Agbeko ranks behind Edgar Berlanga (13th) and Anthony Dirrell (14th) in the middleweight division that is headlined by Saul Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant.
