The Demonstration will stop at KNMP, but leadership will go to BOG-Sam George
National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament(MP) for the people of Ningo Prampram, Sam Nartey George has disclosed how the #OccupyBOGDemonstration petition will be presented to the Bank of Ghana.
Speaking to the media at Obra Spot, the converging point for the demonstration happening today, September 3, the Member of Parliament revealed that the protestors will walk from ‘Obra Spot’ at the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange through some principal streets of the capital.
He added that the protestors will continue to the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park (KNMP), where they will stop, per arrangements with the police.
Consequently, the leadership of the party will then continue to walk to the Bank of Ghana to present their petition.
This protest follows the Central Bank’s loss of GH¢60.81 billion in the 2022 fiscal year and the use of over $250 million for the construction of a new headquarters at North Ridge.
There were earlier reports of misunderstanding between the leaders and the Police regarding an earlier plan to march to the premises of the Central Bank.
