TOUGHA wins Best Association in Tourism award

The Tour Operators Union of Ghana (TOUGHA) was last Saturday, adjudged the “Best Association in Tour­ism” at this year’s Busi­ness Executive Excellence Awards.

TOUGHA is an association of experienced profession­als in the tourism and travel industry in Ghana that offers both inbound and outbound tours.

The association has over the years contributed im­mensely to tourism devel­opment and ensured high standards in the industry.

Speaking to The Spec­tator, the President of TOUGHA, Alisa Osei-Asa­moah, said the award was a feather in their cap and a testimony of their good works over the years.

Mrs Asamoah revealed that the objective is to help improve and enhance the standards of the various tourism sites in the country.

She noted all of these together with other activ­ities and undertaken by them had tremendously improved tourism in the country.

Mrs Asamoah added that this recognition meant that they had to do more for the travel and tourism industry in Ghana and across the continent with the ultimate aim of spurring economic transformation and growth.

Present at the awards ceremony aside from the president were General Sec­retary, Yvonne Donkor; Fi­nancial Secretary, Tina Ross; TOUGHA Advisory Board member, Emmanuel Men­sah; Lisadel Mankor Sagoe and Mr Gorkel Abro-Adibo members of the association who supported the Presi­dent to receive the award on behalf of the Union
