Transport sector to operate at full capacity – President Akuffo-Addo

The limitations on the transport sector to help curb the spread of COVID-19 has been lifted to allow them operate at full capacity.

This was disclosed by President Akufo-Addo, during his 14th address to the nation on Sunday, July 26, 2020.

According to him, this decision was reached after consultation with stakeholders in the sector.

Airplanes, taxis, trotros and buses can resume regular operations, however, he added that the wearing of masks in vehicles and aircrafts, and the maintenance of enhanced hygiene protocols, remained mandatory.

In March, the transport sector was asked to reduce intake of passengers to help fight the spread of COVID-19 in the country after consultation with the unions.
