‘Unguarded statements calculated attempt to disturb nation’s peace’

A Development Communication Expert, Dr. Kofi Amponsah-Bediako, has observed that the unguarded statements made by a section of the public in recent times, are calculated attempt to disturb the peace of the nation.

He said, “Ghana is a peaceful country that is making tremendous progress in the midst of challenges in this COVID-19 era for which reason no one should make any attempt to disturb the peace of the country.”

In an interview with The Spectator in Accra last Monday, Dr. Amponsah-Bediako said the irresponsible statements by some journalists and other individuals were meant to take advantage of the political situation and cause disaffection among the people.

These machinations, he said, would not achieve its desired result, and were bound to fail, because Ghanaians had become more discerning.

Dr. Amponsah-Bediako said at this time that the world was going through difficulties, “we must all put our heads together to help the country to grow.”

If this was done, he said, the sky would be the limit as far as national development agenda was concerned.

He urged all to “re-calibrate our minds and ways of doing things, so as to ensure that the country moves on successfully in line with our national developmental agenda.”

“If we all agree to go by this, Ghana would see tremendous improvement in spite of the numerous challenges the world is facing,” he stressed.
