World Mission Society Church of God organises clean-up exercise on Odorkor-Kasoa highway

The World Mission Society Church of God (General Pastor, Kim Joo-Cheol) has organised a clean-up exercise to clear the waste on the Odorkor-Kasoa highway.

It was part of their annual activities in promoting proper sanitation practices in the country.

The seven-hour exercise saw hundreds of church members cleaning domestic waste on the highway, despite the heavy rains experienced in some part of Accra last week Sunday.

The Dansoman Branch Overseer of the World Mission Society Church of God, Mr Kunwoo Song said, the exercise was to encourage members of the church in cleaning their surroundings often.

He said the church had over the years undertaken such exercises as a means of spreading the teachings to communities on the significance of keeping their surroundings clean.

Mr Song said it was the responsibility of believers of God to protect the environment, since environment was part of the creatures of God, stressing that Christians should champion proper sanitation practice in their communities.

The Member of Parliament for Weija-Gbawe constituency, Madam Tina Gifty Naa Ayele Mensah who also led some members of the public to participate in the exercise, expressed gratitude to the Church for embarking on such initiative.

She said the cleanup exercise was the second time the World Mission Society Church of God, had organised in the constituency, and urged the public to keep their surroundings clean.
