Suspect grabbed over alleged murder of pregnant woman

The Police at Suntreso in Kumasi have arrested a 29-year-old woman in connection with an alleged murder of a pregnant woman, at Aburaso, in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of Ashanti.

Adwoa Pokuah, suspect, was said to have quarreled with the deceased, Akosua Attah, 22, on Wednesday.

Pokuah allegedly stabbed the chest and other parts of the body of the deceased, at about 4pm, and she fell unconscious and was rushed to the Suntreso Hospital, a police source told the Ghanaian Times..

Personnel at the hospital realised the deceased had stabbed wounds and died a few minutes after admission.

According to the source, the deceased mentioned the suspect’s name and accused her of inflicting knife wounds on her.

 Preliminary investigation led to the arrest of Pokuah, who was in police custody.

At the time of filing this report, the body of the deceased had been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for autopsy.
