Minority suspends #OccupyBOGProtest after hours of meeting with police

The Minority in Parliament has suspended planned demonstration against the Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG) and his two deputies slated for tomorrow, September 12.

The decision announced today was after a crunch meeting with the Accra Regional Command of the Ghana Police Service on Monday, September 11.

The two parties met to agree on the route of the demonstration, which was originally scheduled to have been staged on Tuesday, September 5.

Following hours of deliberations without an agreement, the organisers decided to announce a new date for the protest.

According to the minority the Police failed to mark out safe zones for the protest, for this reason, the Minority leader Cassiel Ato Forson while addressing the media said the picketing has been temporarily called off for public safety.
