Water crisis at UDS Nyankpala Campus

I would like to express my concern over how we students in the University of Development Studies (UDS), Nyankpala Cmpus, face water crisis.

Life is said to be dependent on water, without it there would be no life. Water is essential for human survival. We encounter severe water shortage, particularly during the dry season.

Residents of Nyankpala claim that the neighbourhood has been faced with this water problem for a long time now and it has never for once been addressed. Some students leave campus for Tamale when this occurs while others resort to untreated dam water for use to the detriment of their health.

When this happens, we the students choose not to attend lectures. The perennial problem has contributed to low lectures attendance, which has negatively impacted academic performance, making it difficult for us to live on campus.

We are pleading with the school’s administration, government, philanthropists and non-governmental organisations to come to our aid.
