Benevolent Heart Foundation (BHF), a nongovernmental organisation has donated items to the His Majesty Happy Home at Odumase Krobo in the Eastern Region.

The gesture formed part of the organisation’s activities to support the less privileged in the society.

The items were clothes, shoes, bags of rice, boxes of oil, tinned fish, a bucket of groundnut paste, gari and an undisclosed amount of money.

Presenting the items, a member of BHF, Mr Augustine Asante said the support was a token of the organisation’s effort to improve the conditions of those in need.

He said the foundation was there to help not only orphanages but groups and individuals who are in need.

“Each year we visit communities or orphanages to support with the little we have, and this year we are here in Odumase Krobo give our widow’s mite,” Mr Asante said.

Receiving the items, the Founder of the Home, Madam Alberta Smith Asiedu said she currently has about 85 children under her care with 30 permanently living with her.

She explained that the facility was a safe haven to orphans, the needy and other children from the community since 2010.

She thanked the organisation for the donation saying the items would impact the lives of the children in the home.
