Global Evangelical Church donates cash, PPE to Apromase Hospital

The Global Evangelical Church (GEC) Head Office has donated an amount of GH¢15,000 and assorted Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to its Mission Hospital at Apromase in the Ejisu-Juaben District of the Ashanti Region.

Donating the items on behalf of the church, Mr Eyram Atsu, the Board Chairman of the hospital, said GH¢10, 000 of the amount was from the head office, while an additional amount of GH¢ 5,850 was raised by some members of the church.

Mr Atsu said the donation was a response to an emergency request made by the management of the hospital to the GEC Head Office to provide it with PPE to protect its staff in the fight against the novel coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).

The PPE included; 20 safety boots, 20 overall gowns, 17 goggles and two boxes of nose and faces masks.

Receiving the items on behalf of the hospital, Mr Faith Amanful, the administrator expressed gratitude to the GEC Head Office for the prompt response to their request.

He noted that, after the Head Office support, they have also received hand sanitisers, Veronica buckets, examination gloves, tissue paper, liquid soap, goggles, safety boots, water (bottled and satchets) and overall gowns from some individuals and institutions.

Mr Amanful said the items received would be used for its intended purpose and appealed to other organisations to support them.
