Celebrated Ghanaian media personality and musician, Abubakar Ahmed, affectionately called Blakk Rasta has released a 20-track album dubbed, “Salaga Soljah” with a message of unity.
The album is made up of songs like Sodom & Gomorrah, Adisa, M Para-N’duuma, Oohba Oohba, Bua, Kafan Kere, Haile Haile Haile, Kokroko, Cameroon, My Dear Ghana, Baber Shop, and Be My Wife among others.
One of the songs, which aims to address pockets of ethnic violence amongst some communities in the Northern part of the country is “Put Down Your Arms.”
Speaking to The Spectator Agoro on Friday, Blakk Rasta said his inspiration for the song stems from the unfortunate killing of innocent people as a result of ethnic conflicts in the Northern part of the country.
“My people in Bawku have been fighting for a very long time, it has been a struggle, the Dagombas, Kokombas fighting in the past,” he said.
According to Blakk Rasta, he was glad to have produced a song urging the people of the North to come together.
He disclosed that it took him four years to complete the album, saying he was optimistic that with the diversity in the project, everyone would have his or her favourite.
The album produced by Nana Fynn, David Bolton, Zapp Mallet, 2 Luck, AB and Hot Mix is available on all digital platforms.
