Shocking miss outs from 25th TGMA nomination
The release of official nomination list for the 25th Telecel Ghana Music (TGMA) Awards has sparked massive uproar especially on social media with some names missing out from the list, much to the surprise of many.
Many thought that some hardworking artistes within the year under review should have made the list but surprisingly omitted.
Though Charterhouse, organisers of the awards announced their decision to maintain a one-week provisional window for dispute resolution regarding the released nominees list, it did not stop the public from expressing their frustrations.
Some of the sidelined artistes as compiled by The Spectator Agoro include, Great Ampong who made huge impact with his song ‘Style Biaa Bi,’ but did not make it among popular gospel songs.
Another shocking omission was Kuami Eugene for the Songwriter of the Year category after receiving a whopping 14 nominations.
Amerado also missed out on the Most Popular Song of the Year category though his ‘Kwaku Ananse’ song was actually all over the place within the year despite receiving other nominations.
Piesie Esther was also excluded from the Most Popular Song of the Year category. With her consistency over the past two years, many thought her song ‘Ewuradi Mo’ would be in that category.
The 25th TGMA is aimed at celebrating Ghanaian artistes for their contribution to the growth of the industry within the year under review.
