United Queens of GMB launched

Past queens of TV3 Ghana’s Most Beautiful pageant have come together to form an association known as United Queens of GMB.

A ceremony to commemorate the launch took place last Thursday at the Fiesta Royale Hotel in Accra.

Speaking to The Spectator the President of the group, Mrs Adjoa Afariwaa Dawson, Second Runner-up of season 9, who represented the Eastern Region, said all the past queens from2007 to the last edition held on October 3, at the National Theatre have come together to form the association.

She said that they had done well for themselves and society, for this reason coming together as one would make their impact better.

“All the past queens are about 127 people on a single platform, so we have come together to propagate a project inspired by COVID-19, and the mental health issues people are facing as a result of losing job opportunities among others,” she said.

Afariwa said the group would pursue its priority of transforming lives in Ghana and beyond, and told every lady who had ever mounted the GMB stage, that it was free.

They interracted with 50 survivors of mental health at the Junction Mall at Nungua on October 9 at a Mental Health Advocacy Programme, and engaged in cooking competition to raise money and support for the survivor undergoing treatment among others.
