The Tema Development Corporation (TDC) in collaboration with Gh Schools has launched the maiden edition of ‘DecemberFest’ in Accra.

Dubbed ‘Fostering Unity through Culture and Tourism’, the three-day event slated for December 1 – 3, is geared towards the promotion of culture, synergy and tourism in Ghana.

The event set for T-Havana in Tema, will kick-off with a float on the first day, followed by a grand durbar of chiefs with display of food and drinks.

It will be climaxed with a fashion show night, cooking competition and a family day.

Speaking at the launch, the Tema Metro Director of Culture and Tourism, Miss Sandra Boison said the partnership would fuse creativity, innovation and shared vision of strengthening Ghana’s culture.

She said, the event would provide a platform to promote and preserve local fashion and cultural heritage.

Miss Boison added that, “it will bring people from far and near and contribute to the economic development of arts and creativity.”

The Rector for Gh Schools, Leslie Listowel Addo said they were committed to organising the event annually with the aim of reaching out to the diaspora.

Mr Addo invited vendors and individuals to come on board and showcase their products and services.
