Ghanaian gospel musician, Empress Gifty on Sunday, May 14, showed love to widows in her church to commemorate Mother’s Day.

This initiative took place at her church, Bethel Family Chapel Assemblies of God Community 22 in Tema.

Empress gifted them food and toiletries to support them and let them know that on such a day their efforts would not go unnoticed.

The gospel musician told thespectatoronline.com that she was inspired by the fact that Jesus Christ had much compassion for widows.

According to her, they are mentioned several times in the Bible as women to care for and respect, and against this backdrop, she decided to put some smiles on their faces on such a day to celebrate mothers.

After the gesture, Rev. Nelson Andrew Awintia of  Bethel Family Chapel Assemblies of God, together with the widows, prayed for her.
